HIS Academics
Children are a heritage from the Lord. .......Psalm 127:3
The academic program at HIS is designed to enable students to succeed in a variety
of environments. Our students come from a different educational backgrounds
and continue on in a variety of different options in different parts of the world.
We at heritage follow a learner centric model where each student develops
their God given potential to a maximum. To meet this end we focus on the IGCSE and
SAT curricula.
Our school year begins in mid August and ends in late May with two major
breaks; Christmas break and Easter break (two weeks each). The secondary school year
is structured into two semesters; semester 1 beginning in August and semester 2
begining in January. This structure allows students to join HIS at two points
in the year without falling behind in academic courses. Classes meet five
days a week with chapel time every Friday morning. The typical school day
begins at 8:00AM and ends at 2:45PM for grades 1 to 12 classes, and 8:00AM to 12:00PM for
preschool classes. Extracurricular activities begin after
classes at 3:00PM. Teachers are also present outside of class times to
provide extra help when needed.
Some of the academic features of HIS are:
Low Student/Teacher Ratio
We are able to give individual attention to each child thanks to our
small classes. The teacher/student ratio is currently 1:10.
Parent Involvement
Heritage works together with the home and family. Each family is
asked to volunteer at the school in the spirit of family and community.
This volunteerism is one reason we are able to offer low school fees
for the children.
Wide Subject Variety
Heritage offers various courses in science, math, social studies,
language arts, physical education, music, computers, art, swimming,
and of course, Bible.
Loving and Well-qualified Teachers
Heritage International School is very fortunate to have been blessed
with a tremendously dedicated faculty. The teachers come from all
corners of the world to contribute to the mission of Heritage. For
