HIS Student Expectations
Children are a heritage from the Lord. .......Psalm 127:3

Our student learning expectations are modeled after the growth of
Jesus Christ described in Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and
stature and in favor with God and man.” Based on this, we have
structured our student goals in the same four categories: wisdom
(academic), stature (physical), favor with God (spiritual), and favor
with man (social). Of course, many goals will overlap categories
because all lines of our lives converge on a focal point, and that
is to become like Jesus Christ.
Wisdom (academic):
Each student will demonstrate their full potential for academic achievement.
Each student will master basic literacy and numeracy appropriate to their grade level.
Each student will develop their ability to think critically and creatively.
Each student will be able to apply their learning to new situations, as well as develop their ability to solve problems.
Each student will learn to evaluate, organize and formulate strategies.
Each student will learn basic skills using materials both on paper and on computer.
Each student will gain the ability to learn both independently
and collaboratively (teamwork).
Students returning to their home countries will be able to successfully further their education without interruption.
Favor with man (social):
Each student will have respectful Christian relationships with others. Students will reflect self-discipline based on that sense of respect.
Each student will develop an international view of the world by drawing upon the many cultures represented within our school community. Each student will have cross-cultural experiences which foster an understanding, appreciation, and respect for varied peoples and places.
Each student will acquire the work habits, self-confidence, and maturity they will need to adapt to future changes.
Stature (physical):
Each student will develop physical skills to their peak ability.
Each student will become aware of the importance of all-round physical health and fitness.
Each student will practice basic personal healthcare and safety.
Each student will understand and appreciate their physical body from both biological and Biblical viewpoints.
Favor with God (spiritual):
Each student will be in a right relationship with God.
Each student will establish Christian values in all areas of life by integrating faith with academic, social, and physical development.
Each student will develop a strong foundation of spiritual and moral values.
