Welcome to Heritage International School!

Home to Heritage Lions and many wonderful students and staff, located in beautiful Kampala, Uganda. 

On entering the school grounds, you are greeted by the sounds of children laughing, singing, and the general buzz of a learning environment. Walking through the heart of our campus, you are surrounded by lush greenery and most days a group of ibis birds stroll leisurely through the grass, as if enjoying our presence as much as we admire theirs. Heritage's exterior captures the essence of a National Park and we are happy to share our campus with a wide variety of God's creation! Having been built with the future in mind, our school sits on a sprawling piece of land, ripe for expansion and growth. Currently we are proud to have 190 students and are continuing to accept applications and enquiries as our school reputation spreads. 

We are constantly growing and adapting, and we look forward to the heights that Heritage will reach. We constantly try to maintain our vision and direction, envisioned when Heritage was simply an idea amongst Bible Study friends and then set into motion in 1994. We are a Christian school, adhering to the standards set before us by Christ in both personal and educational philosophies. We believe in the redeeming power of the gospel and the abundant life promised to all who know Jesus. But we acknowledge the divine gift of freedom to choose and so we do not force our religion upon any of our students. However  we do ask that all students attend a weekly chapel service, as well as Bible classes.

There is a large variety of cultures represented within the school creating an enriched learning environment where all of us learn to respect and value diversity. We encourage our students and staff to broaden their horizons, whether it be through a visit to the local dairy farm, creating awareness of the local conditions, or an in-depth look at the complex workings of international government. We regularly support local charities and encourage our students in community service and work experience. We educate our student to be global citizens: prepared for the challenge of taking their place in the global community, wherever that may lead them.
